Plastic coating of large pipes weighing up to 20 tonnes

This order for the onshore part of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) of EEW was special in that the thick-walled pipes of 12 m length had unit weights of up to 20 tonnes. They were to be coated in polyethylene in a 3-layer procedure in accordance with ISO 21809-1. For this, we had to considerably reinforce the transport unit in our pipe coating facility so that the pipes could be coated in the first place. These investments have now made us the first coating company able to coat large pipes with a weight of 20 tonnes with plastic. The order was performed in our factory in Kreuztal.
