Fire protectioncoating for building regulations and architectural requirements

Reaktive Brandschutzsysteme von InProCoat

Even though steel itself does not burn and does not emit any harmful gases when exposed to fire, a fire poses a particular challenge for the supporting structure of a steel building. The heat generated in the event of a fire can reduce the load-bearing capacity of steel beams, significantly weakening the entire structure.

In order to counteract the negative effects of fire and high temperatures, an individually tailored fire protection concept is required. Fire protection coating as a passive fire protection measure is playing an increasingly important role in steel construction as well as in structures made of wood or concrete.

Fire protection coatings in the factory and on site

Our company specializes in coating with fire protection systems of fire resistance classes R30 to R120 in accordance with DIN EN 13501-2.

Fire resistance classes according to DIN EN 13501-2 and DIN 4102-2 at a glance:

Building authority requirements DIN EN 13501-2 DIN 4102-2
fire-retardant R30 F30
Highly fire-retardant R60 F60
fire resistant R90 F90
Fire-resistant for at least 120 min R120 F120

With the application processes used in our factory, we can coat steel beams and other components with a primer, the fire protection coating and, if you wish, with a top coat within 24 hours, thus protecting them against fire. This ensures just-in-time delivery at all times.

Thanks to our high capacities, we can also implement large fire protection projects promptly and reliably.

Fire protection coating on the construction site

In addition to our factory capacities, we have our own team that works exclusively on construction sites. Our employees have the expertise and equipment to apply a fire protection or wet paint coating to steel beams and other elements directly on your construction site to protect them from fire.

What types of components can be treated with fire protection coatings?

Fire protection coatings can be applied to a variety of building components, including steel beams, steel columns, steel pillars, steel sheets and profiles. They can also be used on timber or concrete structures to increase their fire resistance.

Are there specific requirements for the color design of fire protection coatings?

There are no fixed color rules for fire protection coatings. The choice of color is varied and depends on the design preferences and requirements of the project. Architects and planners have the freedom to choose colors according to their design vision.

How long does it take to apply a fire protection coating?

The duration of application varies depending on the scope of the project, the components to be coated and the method chosen. In general, a fire protection coating can be applied in workshops within 24 hours. This allows for efficient production and delivery.

What additional benefits does the fire protection coating offer in terms of environmental protection?

Fire protection coatings can help control fires and slow their spread, which can minimize environmental damage and waste of resources. The extended service life of building components due to the fire protection coating can also help to reduce building material waste.
